When Boog and Elliot discover an abandoned Summer Camp in the middle of nowhere, they embark on a brave new adventure of creating a safe and special place to live that welcomes animals of every kind. Under the leadership of Boog and Elliot, the Campers must all work together to help create their own slice of paradise in the middle of the wilderness and rediscover their inner wild.
Open Season: Call of Nature is a 2D animated comedy series based on the motion picture franchise from Sony Pictures Animation, and produced by 9 Story Media Group with animation by Brown Bag Films Toronto.
The series is directed by Brown Bag Films' directors Mark Thornton (Total Drama Island, Corner Gas Animated, True and the Rainbow Kingdom) and Todd Kauffman (Total Drama Island, Corner Gas Animated, Grojband). Alan Keane (Space Chickens in Space, The Oddbods Show) serves as executive story editor. The series is executive produced by Sony Pictures Animation producer Rick Mischel (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs series) along with 9 Story's Vince Commisso, Natalie Osborne, and Blake Tohana.
The voice cast also includes Jonathan Langdon as Boog, Joshua Graham as Elliot, Josette Jorge as Giselle, Ron Pardo as Ian, Jonathan Sconza as Mr. Weenie, Trevor White as McSquizzy, Sara Garcia as Karla, and Annick Obonsawin as Kiki.
Open Season: Call of Nature began airing in 2023, with its international premiere on Discovery Kids in Brazil and Latin America on October 2, 2023 and its North American premiere on Family Channel in Canada on November 3, 2023 followed by The Roku Channel in the United States on March 10, 2024.
