Brown Bag Films is committed to fostering an inclusive and accessible workplace for all. Our Multi-Year Accessibility Plan outlines the steps we’re taking to remove barriers and meet the needs of individuals with disabilities, in alignment with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and the Ontario Human Rights Code.

This Plan applies to 9 Story Media Group and its Ontario Registered Businesses as and where required by the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.

9 Story Media Group strives to meet the needs of its employees and customers with disabilities and is working hard to remove and prevent barriers to accessibility. 9 Story Media Group is committed to fulfilling our requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005. This accessibility plan outlines the steps we are taking to meet those requirements and to improve opportunities for people with disabilities.
Our plan shows how we will play our role in making Ontario an accessible province for all Ontarians. The plan is reviewed and updated at least once every 5 years.
Customer Service
9 Story Media Group is committed to providing accessible customer service to people with disabilities. This means that we will provide goods, services, and facilities to people with disabilities with the same high quality and timeliness as others.
- We communicate with people with disabilities in ways that consider their needs.
- We welcome assistive devices, service animals, and support people in our facilities.
- We notify the public about temporary disruptions to accessible services and provide alternative arrangements where possible.
- We continue to train our employees and all third-party providers (i.e. freelancers) on AODA during their orientation.
Information and Communications
9 Story Media Group is committed to making our information and communications accessible to people with disabilities.
- Feedback about the accessibility of our services or this plan is welcomed and can be provided by phone, email or mail.
- We provide accessible formats and communication support on request, in a timely manner and at no additional cost.
- Employees are aware of how to accommodate requests for accessible formats and communication supports.
- The Communications & Marketing department monitors and responds to all accessibility-related feedback received through digital channels, ensuring timely follow-up and documentation of actions taken.
- Feedback channels will be reviewed regularly to ensure they are easy to find and use.

Emergency Procedures, Plans or Public Safety Information
Our Joint Health and Safety Committee and Facilities Team prepare emergency procedures, plans or public safety information and make the information available to the public. These will be provided in accessible formats or with communications support, upon request, as soon as practicable.
Accessible Websites and Web Content
9 Story Media Group ensures that our internet websites and web content conform with the World Wide Web Consortium Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, Level AA, where technically feasible. We partner with expert developers to assist us in developing and maintaining accessible websites. Feedback on accessibility can be provided at accessibility@9story.com.
Employment
9 Story Media Group is committed to fair and accessible employment practice. We ensure accessibility throughout the recruitment and hiring process by providing accommodation upon request.
Employees with disabilities receive individualized workplace accommodation as needed, and we create individualized emergency response plans for employees who require them.
We notify job applicants that accommodation is available during the recruitment process and inform employees of supports available for those with disabilities. When an employee requests accommodation, we consult with them to provide the most appropriate support and document individualized accommodation, and return-to-work plans as required.
Training
We provide AODA and Ontario Human Rights Code training to all employees, volunteers, and third-party service providers. Training is provided as soon as practicable, and whenever our accessibility policies change. Records are maintained including the dates training was provided and the number of individuals trained.
Update on Activities
Since 2021, 9 Story Media Group has invested in:
- The development of programs and training of all employees in respect in the workplace, workplace harassment and workplace violence and employee workplace accommodations
- Trained volunteer mental health first aiders
- Launched a mental health program supported by its employee assistance program
