Our Dublin Studio: The Heart of Brown Bag Films
Dublin is the original home of Brown Bag Films, where our animation journey began in 1994 with just two people—co-founders Cathal Gaffney and Darragh O'Connell. Today, our studio spans three buildings in Smithfield Square, a vibrant district near the city centre known for its rich blend of history and modern culture. Surrounded by cultural landmarks, dining hotspots, and entertainment venues, Smithfield offers a dynamic atmosphere that fuels creativity. With excellent public transport links, the location is easily accessible for staff and visitors alike, making it an ideal base for innovation.

Our recently renovated Dublin spaces are among the most technically advanced animation facilities in the world, featuring full in-house capabilities for animation, picture, and audio post-production. Our talented team works across a robust CG pipeline on award-winning productions—from Oscar-nominated short films like Give Up Yer Aul Sins and Granny O’Grimm’s Sleeping Beauty to globally celebrated series including Peter Rabbit, Doc McStuffins, Vampirina, Karma’s World, Ada Twist, Scientist, and more.

Our Dublin studio is home to a number of dedicated committees who make things happen! Whether it's organising life-drawing sessions or a summer BBQ, our committees ensure we have plenty of activities to engage in all year round.

Our goal is to invest in our team and help you develop your career. Get ready to level up your skills with our mentorship initiatives and wealth of learning & development programs and paths.

We’re dedicated to supporting our team with comprehensive resources—from employee rewards and retirement plans to benefits programs. And of course, we keep the fun alive with plenty of pizza and cake days!
