Eureka! tells the story of a young girl inventor who is way ahead of her time. Utilizing creative out-of-the-box thinking, she designs inventions and contraptions in the hopes of making the world a better place and moving her prehistoric community into a more modern era. With the help of her supportive parents, teacher, best friends — Pepper and Barry — and beloved pet mammoth Murphy, Eureka is learning to embrace that she is not ordinary — she's extraordinary.
Each episode follows Eureka alongside her family, friends and pet mammoth Murphy as she “thinkers” her way out of problems by creating some fantastic inventions.
Eureka! is produced by Brown Bag Films in association with Disney Junior. This series was created by Peabody Award-winning director Norton Virgien and award-winning children’s book author Niamh Sharkey. Virgien and Sharkey are also executive-producers, working alongside Emmy Award-nominated Erica Rothschild who acts as a co-executive producer and story editor on the show.
The Eureka! voice cast includes Ruth Righi (Sydney to the Max) who stars as Eureka, alongside Renée Elise Goldsberry (Hamilton) as Eureka’s mom Roxy and Lil Rel Howery (Free Guy) as Eureka's dad Rollo. Javier Muñoz (Hamilton) voices schoolteacher, Ohm, with Kai Zen (Amphibia) and Devin Trey Campbell (Broadway's Kinky Boots) voicing Eureka’s friends Pepper and Barry. Fred Tatasciore (Big Hero 6 The Series) rounds out the main cast, voicing pet mammoth Murphy. Recurring and guest cast members include talent like Ellie Kemper (Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), Jack McBrayer (30 Rock), Ryan Michelle Bathé (The Endgame), Wendell Pierce (Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan), Emmy-winner Loretta Devine, Sheila E., and Misty Copeland.
Eureka! made its prehistoric premiere on June 22, 2022 on Disney Junior and Disney+ USA and subsequently on Disney+.
This behind-the-scenes peek at the making of the First Imagineer features key members of the Eureka! creative team, including show co-creators and executive producers Niamh Sharkey and Norton Virgien, series developer and co-executive producer Erica Rothschild, consulting producers Donna Brown Guillaume and Rusty Cundieff, and science education consultant Christina “Chee” McGuigan.
