The Television Critics Association (TCA) have announced the nominees for the organization’s 38th Annual TCA Awards and we're delighted to share that BOTH Ada Twist, Scientist and Ridley Jones have garnered nominations.

The 2022 TCA Awards showcase a diverse roster of TV content across a wide array of platforms and genres, spotlighting outstanding creators, series, and stars of the 2021-2022 TV season. Representing more than 200 professional journalists who cover television, nominated programming available on broadcast, cable and streaming outlets, the TCA presents awards in 13 distinct categories, honoring outstanding achievements in Drama, Comedy, Miniseries, Youth, News and Information, Reality, and Variety, Sketch or Talk Shows, among others.

It’s fitting, then, that we should ring in this long-awaited occasion with one of the most competitive, talented, and star-heavy nominee rosters in recent memory. Ada Twist, Scientist and Ridley Jones have been nominated in the Outstanding Achievement in Youth Programming category alongside The Baby-Sitters Club, El Deafo, Mira, Royal Detective, Octonauts: Above & Beyond, Odd Squad, and Sesame Street.

Ada Twist, Scientist, is a preschool series developed by executive producer Chris Nee (Laughing Wild) and produced in partnership with President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground Productions.

Based on the best-selling children's book series by author Andrea Beaty and illustrator David Roberts, the series follows the adventures of 8-year-old Ada Twist, a pint-sized scientist with a giant-sized curiosity, who aspires to discover the truth about absolutely everything.

Ridley Jones, a preschool series also from the acclaimed Chris Nee, follows six-year-old Ridley who, alongside her mother and grandmother, is a protector of the museum she calls home. Keeping the exhibits safe takes a real hero, especially when the lights go out and the exhibits — from Egyptian mummies to stampeding elephants — come to life!

The 38th Annual TCA Awards will take place on Saturday, August 6. Winners will be announced at the invitation-only presentation at The Langham Huntington Hotel in Pasadena, CA, marking the first time that the TCA Awards will be held in-person since 2019.
