50th Annual Annie Award Nominations!

BROWN BAG FILMS EDITORIAL TEAM BAGS AWARD NOD FOR 'KARMA'S WORLD'

We have some AMAZING news to share! Hot off the tail of our recent NAACP Image Award nominations, we’re thrilled to announce that our talented Brown Bag Films editorial team has received an Annie Award nomination for 'Best Editorial - TV/Media' for their fantastic work on Karma's World!

Karma's World, which premiered on Netflix in 2021, is an animated series produced in partnership with 9 Story’s Emmy Award-winning Creative Affairs Group as well as Karma’s World Entertainment, Chris Bridges’s production company. The series, created by Alison McDonald and Halcyon Person, follows Karma Grant, an aspiring musical artist and rapper with big talent and an even bigger heart.

The nominated episode, “Keys, The Inventor”, episode 2 in Season 4 of Karma's World, follows Keys Grant, the pickle chip lovin', inventive little brother of Karma, as he navigates a difficult and challenging situation. When Keys heads to the Invention Expo to show off his creations, a strangers cruel words upset him. Keys decides he doesn’t want to be an inventor anymore, and it’s up to his family and community to surround him with love, and to show him that he can be anything he wants to be.

Check out a clip from the episode below:

Karma's World Director Bronagh O'Hanlon, and Senior Editor Damien Dunne had this to say upon news of the nomination:

“I’m proud to see Karma’s World nominated for an Annie Award for Best Editorial – TV/Media. A big congratulations and thanks to the whole talented crew and to Netflix for bringing this show to our screens. These are such important stories to have out there in the world, with such an inspiring hero, and considering this series was completed during lockdown, it is a testament to everyone’s dedication. The fact that our editors and post-production team are being celebrated with this nomination is of no surprise to me, as in the words of Karma their work was ‘next level'!”

—Bronagh O'Hanlon, Director, Brown Bag Films Dublin studio

“We’re absolutely thrilled to be nominated for Best Editorial at the Annie Awards. Karma's World was a lockdown labour of love, and we couldn’t be prouder of how it turned out.

Shout-out to the entire Karma’s World crew across Dublin, New York, and Bali. A special mention to all the behind-the-scenes admin heroes, here in Brown Bag Films Dublin’s Post Department, who helped make this a reality!”

—Damien Dunne, Senior Editor, Brown Bag Films Dublin studio

Congratulations to our very own Bronagh O'Hanlon and our incredible Karma's World editorial team, Damien Dunne, Ultan Murphy, Emma O'Brien, Fred O'Connor, Aiden McKenna, for their Annie Award nomination for Best Editorial - TV/Media!
