White Collar Boxing for Crumlin & Temple Street Children’s Hospitals

LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!

Our Dublin studio is getting fired up to compete in a charity white-collar boxing event with our Smithfield neighbours Rothco.

The event is taking place in aid of CRMF Crumlin and Temple Street, and our team is getting themselves ready for the big event on Thursday, December 5th!

Fifteen of our best will be put through their paces by Olympian Cathal O'Grady in his Harold's Cross gym. We caught up with Brown Bag's Senior Editor and event organiser, Rossa Lundberg, to find out how this all came about!

Rossa: Richie Quinn (Technical Supervisor, Post) and I had bought some gloves and pads in the lead up to his wedding for some sparring, with a view to getting in shape. Both of us loved it, compared to jogging the difference is astronomical, boxing is actually fun!

It worked a charm, I'm feeling better than ever and Richie lost 56 lbs in 3 months. We were enjoying it so much that we thought it would be cool to put on an event and raise some much-needed money for Crumlin and Temple Street Children's Hospitals. Getting some training from professionals in the lead up to Christmas is a huge bonus!

Ronan O'Neill (3D PipelineTD) had done such amazing work with the Equinox cycle that it gave us a fair bit of confidence that this could be done. We had toyed around with the idea of challenging another agency and are delighted that Rothco has accepted the challenge.

If you would like to donate and help us hit our 8K target, please visit: www.idonate.ie/SmithfieldSmackdown

Together we've raised over 2.5K! A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed!

We will be keeping you posted with blow-by-blow progress reports on all our fighters in the lead up to the big night, so be sure to watch this space!
