Two Canadian Screen Award Wins for 9 Story & Brown Bag Films!

Activate your creature powers and shake your tiger tails, because we have big news to share fresh off the Gold Carpet at this year’s Canadian Screen Awards!

We are thrilled to announce that Wild Kratts took home ‘Best Animated Program or Series’ at The Television Program and Performance Awards ceremony and our very own Brown Bag Films director Tammy Langton won ‘Best Director, Animation’ at the Television Craft Awards ceremony for her work on Daniel Tiger’s Neighbourhood – ‘The Neighbourhood Wedding!’

“We would like to congratulate Tammy Langton, winner of Best Director, Animation. Tammy Langton was the assistant director on the pilot episode of Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood before taking the helm as director in season 4.  So, to be recognized by her peers for outstanding direction on a pre-school series in Daniel's sixth season is just more continued evidence of Tammy's unwavering dedication to her craft.  We could not be more proud of you, Tammy!

Congratulations also goes out to the Wild Kratts 7 team, winner of Best Animated Program or Series! Early on it had become our goal to continue to build off all the previous seasons, while finding some new and playful ideas to push even further. Bringing more learning and laughing about the wild world all around us, while exploring the balance between scientifically accurate animals and the action-comedy fun of the Kratts adventure team. The wonderful partnership and teamwork made Wild Kratts season seven shine and created a joyful experience for everyone who worked across it. We sincerely thank our partners The Kratts Brothers for their support and trust, as well as the entire crew for their WILD ideas and thoughtfulness. Keep on creature adventuring!”

“I am immensely grateful to the Canadian Academy for the honour and acknowledgement. None of us do this alone; it has taken incredible dedication and effort by so many at 9 Story, Brown Bag Films, Fred Rogers Productions, Voodoo Highway, PBS KIDS, and others, to bring this loveable 'neighbourhood' to life. Cheers to all of our Daniel Tiger crew!”
