TAAFI #Recap

Last weekend Brown Bag Films Toronto attended the first of its kind TAAFI industry event and it was a blast!

We caught up with our HR team and 2D animator Josh Pinker to hear all about it. Here's what the 2-day event looked liked for them.

JOB FAIR

The job fair was fantastic! On Saturday we got to meet a ton of great people, from designers, storyboard artists and even instructors from BC and Buffalo. It was my first TAAFI event and I can't wait for the next one. One of my favourite things about the day was chatting with people about their pitches. All in all, the job fair was a huge success.  - Ryan Persaud, Recruitment Administrator

THE VIP EXPERIENCE

The event was packed with amazing people and opportunities to network.

Josh had the pleasure of meeting Fred Seibert, founder and CEO of Frederator Networks among many other impressive titles. (First creative director at MTV, first investor in Tumblr, social media entrepreneur, to name a few)

Here he is with PBSKids' Linda Simensky who is currently working with Brown Bag Films on shows like Daniel Tiger's Neighbourhood, Wild Kratts and Let's Go Luna!, scheduled to premiere on PBS Kids November 21st, 2018.

Taafi was amazing! I had a VIP pass and they treated me like royalty! One of my top experiences from this weekend was a panel with independent animation artist Joel Mackenzie. Joel’s work has been screened at some of the top festivals in the world and that has opened the door to take his ideas further with clients.

If you missed the event this year, don't fret.  We heard some exciting rumours that next years conference dates will be announced soon!
