This April, a delegation of our Toronto team members represented Brown Bag Films at the annual TAAFIxCASO Animation/VFX/Gaming Job Fair. Back in person for the first time since 2019, the industry event was held at the Reference Library in Toronto, Canada on Sunday, April 23, running from 10am – 5pm. The TAAFIxCASO Animation/VFX/Gaming Job Fair is one of the world’s largest of its kind and features over 22 studios booths, an artist alley, a portfolio review section, and Presentation Zone, for animation students, graduates and industry professionals to explore.

At the Brown Bag Films booth, our crew met with many participants throughout the day who were interested in pursuing a career in animation. Members from our recruitment and production team were on hand to walk eventgoers through the current opportunities and benefits of working at our Brown Bag Films Toronto studio, including our dynamic team of creatives, award-winning work, mentorship programs and learning and development opportunities established to help staff level up their skills and careers in animation. Our team was delighted to share their experiences and insights with the many people they met at the job fair and were impressed by the incredible caliber of talent found across our industry.

This year, our Brown Bag Films TAAFI Job Fair team was made up of Adrian Hansen (Head of Animation), Daryl Permejo (2D Technical Director - Rigging), Kevin Saunders (Senior Recruitment Specialist), Katie Almond (Recruitment Specialist), Ayesha Vahidy (Director, Global Recruitment), Katie Connell (Recruitment Coordinator), and Cory Bobiak (Creative Director, Toronto).

Cory also had the opportunity to represent our studio in the Harley Farms Presentation Zone, where he shared an in-depth studio spotlight about the innovative and high-quality animation work coming out of our production pipeline in Toronto. The presentation focused on the creative and animation process behind some of our studio's more recent projects like Rosie’s Rules and Lu & The Bally Bunch, as well as tips for aspiring animators on how to build a successful career in the industry.
