Macmillan Coffee Morning #BrownBagManchester

On Friday 27th September people from across the UK came together over a hot beverage and some cake to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Since starting in the 1990s Macmillan’s Coffee Mornings have raised over £200 million to support people diagnosed with cancer.

This year our Manchester studio hosted an afternoon tea which included some sweet and savoury snacks. The event was open to all creative businesses based at The Sharp Project and raised £111 for this fantastic cause.

If you would like to hold your own coffee morning, there is still time! Here are our top tips for hosting your own coffee morning:

Time & Place

Coffee mornings can take place at anytime! The official date is September 27th but don’t let that hold you back.

Make sure the space you choose is accessible so you can invite plenty of people. Holding an event at work or school is perfect because you already have a large number of people in one space.

Recipe Inspiration

Whether you want to make something sweet or savoury Macmillan have a recipe page full of ideas to inspire you.

Mix It Up

Add some games! Macmillan have some great ideas on their downloads page. Why not include a raffle or tombola to raise some extra money?

Celebrate Your Success

Make sure you let your guests know how much money was raised by all their hard work.
