The news is officially out! Brown Bag Films is super excited to announce our latest collaboration with Netflix and Dr. Seuss Enterprises: two brand-new animated adaptations of beloved Dr. Seuss classics—Horton! and The Sneetches—set to premiere as part of Netflix’s Fall 2025 preschool lineup.
Dr. Seuss’s Horton! and The Sneetches were showcased as part of the upcoming animation slate for Netflix during the recent Annecy Animation Festival. Netflix held its inaugural studio focus panel Netflix Series Animation: Get Ready for What’s Next! led by executive John Derderian, Vice President, Animation Series. The team provided an exclusive look at the upcoming shows from visionary storytellers and studios from around the world including some exclusive sneak peeks!

Horton! – A Whimsical New Series
The beloved Dr. Seuss story Horton Hears a Who! is being reimagined, this time as a vibrant new 11-minute CG animated series developed by Dustin Ferrer and Becky Friedman who are also exec producers, and being produced by our Dublin studio.
The series follows the exciting and whimsical adventures of a young Horton and his best bud Samson as they go on adventures to help the citizens of the Jungle of Nool.
Netflix’s Director of Kids & Preschool Original Series, Heather Tilert, introduced the new Dr. Seuss titles noting that, “These are incredible shows… they’re beloved and they came from a very specific, passionate creator point of view.” Explaining the concept during her presentation, Tilert said:
“In every episode, Horton the elephant and his best bird pal, Samson, help an animal in the Jungle of Nool with an unconventional problem,” adding that Brown Bag Films has “done an incredible job bringing this cutie patootie to life.”
The Sneetches – A Special with a Message
Also part of the upcoming slate is The Sneetches, a 44-minute-long CG animated special also being produced by our Dublin studio, aimed at families and children aged 5–10. The official synopsis reads, “Once upon a time, there were Star-Belly Sneetches and Moon-Belly Sneetches who lived together on the beach, until one day they decided they were too different to live together. So they went their separate ways. But then Stella, a Star-Belly Sneetch, met Pearl, a Moon-Belly Sneetch, and they realized Sneetches are Sneetches, and no one kind of Sneetch is the best on the beaches.”
Describing the upcoming special, Tilert said:
”[The Sneetches is] a stunning 44-minute special that brings a Dr. Seuss classic to life in a long format… We think of this one as a great introduction to a kind of family movie night for kids aged 5 to 10.”
These projects are part of a broader partnership between Netflix and Dr. Seuss Enterprises, which includes five new animated titles. Executive Producer Dustin Ferrer, known for his work on Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and Esme & Roy, is serving as the creative lead across the slate. The goal? To bring Dr. Seuss’s whimsical worlds to life in ways that are fresh, fun, and educational for today’s preschoolers.
We’re honored to help reimagine these iconic stories and characters for a new generation. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to the Fall 2025 premiere!
