We are bursting with excitement! The Canadian Screen Awards were announced earlier this morning and our 9 Story & Brown Bag shows received a total of 7 nominations.

First up, both The Magic School Bus Rides Again: The Frizz Connection and Wild Kratts are nominated for Best Animated Program or Series, alongside Corner Gas Animated, Hotel Transylvania: The Series, and Snoopy in Space.

The Frizz Connection also scooped up another two nominations, including Best Direction, Animation (Rich Weston), and Best Sound, Animation (Dan Kuntz, Jack Carter).

Writers Desmond Sargeant and Meghan Read, received a shared nomination in the category of Best Writing, Animation, for their work on the “I am Harriet Tubman” episode from Xavier Riddle and the Secret Museum.

And finally, Xavier Riddle composer Meiro Stamm and the Let’s Go Luna music team—made up of Ari Posner, Amin Bhatia, Kris Kuzdak and Chris Tait—were nominated for Best Original Music, Animation.

A huge congratulations to our nominated productions, and to everyone involved in bringing these series to life. And big shout outs to all the 2021 Canadian Screen Award nominees.

The year’s main event will stream live on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 8 p.m. ET and will feature a curated selection of prominent awards.
