Celebrating the iconic artist/animator/cartoonist/screenwriter/producer/director Chuck Jones, who passed away 12 years ago today.
The most iconic Bugs Bunny short… What's Opera, Doc? was released in 1957 as part of Warner Bros. Merrie Melodies series. What's Opera, Doc? was voted No. 1 of the 50 Greatest Cartoons of all time in 1994 and was the first cartoon short to be deemed “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant” by the United States Library of Congress.
Watching Elmer Fudd chase Bugs Bunny through a parody of Wagner's operas - what's not to love?! The short is probably best known as Kill the Wabbit, which Fudd sings (to the tune of Ride of the Valkyries).
