The Jay Kennedy Memorial Scholarship

Calling all College and University student cartoonists!

The Jay Kennedy Memorial Scholarship in association with the National Cartoonist Society will be awarding one talented student $5000 to put towards their studies. The award is given out annually and was established 10 years ago in memory of Jay Kennedy, the late King Features comics editor.

The National Cartoonist Society Foundation (NCSF) is part of the National Cartoonist Society, a registered charity working to advance the ideals and standards of the cartooning profession, to stimulate and encourage aspiring cartoonists through scholarships and educational programs, and to provide financial assistance to cartoonists and their families in times of hardship - via About the NCSF

Last year's winner, Zi Chen, is an Animation major at Sheridan College in Ontario, Canada.  In addition to winning the $5000 scholarship, she also won a trip to the National Cartoonist Society's Reuben Award Weekend.
