‘StoryBots: Answer Time’ Wins 2 Children’s & Family Emmy® Awards

This weekend The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences revealed the winners of the 2023 Children’s and Family Emmy Awards® at two celebratory events hosted at the historic Westin Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles and aired live on The Emmys® apps. The ceremonies were split across two evenings, with the Children’s & Family Creative Arts Emmy® Awards presented on Saturday, December 16, and the Children’s & Family Emmy® Awards announced on Sunday, December 17.

We are thrilled to share that the Netflix series StoryBots: Answer Time took home two Emmy® Awards at last night’s Children’s & Family ceremony. The show won for Outstanding Preschool Animated Series and the series writing team was honoured with the award for Outstanding Writing for a Preschool Animated Program.

StoryBots: Answer Time, follows a crew of colorful robots – Beep, Boop, Bing, Bang and Bo – as they head out on a series of hilarious quests to answer intriguing questions like “Why do people get dizzy?” and “How do lasers work?” with fun bite-size explanations, while delivering plenty of laughs along the way. StoryBots: Answer Time is enjoyable for kids and grown-ups alike and includes some amazing guest cameos from stars like Sophie Turner, Danny DeVito, Chrissy Tiegen, Anne Hathaway, and many more.

Brown Bag Films provided animation services on the Emmy® award-winning show, and the series is an incredible showcase of the caliber of work and artistry coming out of our Toronto studio. Our StoryBots crew worked on much of the animation for the main story of each episode, handling production assets, rigging, scene planning, and FX & comp work.

A huge congratulations to the entire StoryBots: Answer Time cast and crew, Netflix, and creators Gregg Spiridellis and Evan Spiridellis. We would also like to extend a big shout out to the show’s writers Edlyn Capulong, Matt Chapman, Mike Chapman, Scott Emmons, Jeff Gill, Chris Harding, Henock Lebsekal, Kendall Nelson, Evan Spiridellis, Gregg Spiridellis, Maha Tabikh, and Nate Theis on their collective award win.

Finally, a standing ovation goes out to all this year’s Children's & Family Emmy® Awards winners and nominees. We are incredibly proud of all our series and service shows, which received a total of 16 nominations across this weekend’s ceremonies. The dedication and passion that our teams invest into creating these exceptional programs and series for kids is truly outstanding, and to see their achievements recognized in this way is a very rewarding and meaningful experience.
