The 2014 Oscar Nominees were announced last week, and there's some stiff competition in the animated categories.

The Animated Feature category has five strong contenders: Studio Ghibli and StudioCanal facing down the Hollywood giants Disney, Dreamworks and Universal. (Our money is on Frozen, not that we're biased, with John Huikku in the studio)

But that's not all. The Best Animated Short contenders are great - and I'm delighted to see Max Long back in the running with Room on the Broom, adapted from Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler's book.
