It's May the Fourth aka Star Wars Day - the most important internet holiday in the GALAXY!
To help us celebrate the day we rallied our artists to share some of their Star Wars inspired art with us.
Behold our May the Fourth Be With You art show!
First up, we've got a series of great sketches featuring both heroes and villains of the Star Wars universe from our Toronto-based Storyboard Revisionist, Eduardo Espinoza.
Next, we've got a Return of the Jedi poster and some fun post-it artwork from Toronto-based Development Coordinator, Jessica Tsou.
We're ready for battle in this X-Wing Starfighter by Dublin-based 2D Designer, Derek Horan!
Here's an epic ensemble poster from Toronto-based Layout Artist, Samuel Amanfi! Rey is READY!
Our Manchester-based 2D Artist, Sara Guardiola, created a May the Fourth inspired GIF!
R2-D2, C-3PO and BB-8 shine in this sketch from Manchester-based Background Artist, James Chapman:
It's portrait time for our valiant Luke Skywalker! Digital painting by Toronto-based Compositor, Sami Ling.
You can see a process timelapse from Sami's Instagram here:
We get a little retro with this pixellated Millenium Falcon piece from Dublin-based Art Director, Stephen O'Connor.
Toronto-based Senior Animator, Justin Salgado, takes us through the light and dark side of the force:
Toronto-based Story Editor, Jorge Aguirre, shares a little Star Wars Episode IV Easter egg reference from his graphic novel 'Dragons Beware'!
Our Manchester-based Storyboard Supervisor, Paul Gunson, created these two models - Han Solo in carbonite, made from foam board, Super Sculpey clay and LED lighting and Yoda who's head and limbs were made from Sculpey and his body and clothing from raw silk. The stick came from the local woods!
This one's not a drawing but it's pretty darn cool - Sarah McQuire, our Director of Operations UK, sent us this photo of her son Jack, at the Star Wars Launch Bay at Walt Disney World, ready to take on the dark side!
“It always makes me think he’s going to go into battle with Kylo Ren!”
- Sarah McQuire
We added a cheeky little lightsabre in!
And where would we be without the legendary George Lucas, creator of the Star Wars universe? Digital painting by Dublin-based Lead Texture Artist, Supriya Pendurkar.
May the Fourth Be With You!
