Let’s Go Luna! Wins ‘Best Original Music, Animation’ at 2023 Canadian Screen Awards!

On Wednesday, April 12, the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television celebrated the best of the best in Canadian kids media at the 2023 Canadian Screen Awards – Children’s and Animation Program.

We're absolutely over the moon to announce that the talented composers Ari Posner, Amin Bhatia, and Kris Kuzdak snagged the coveted Best Original Music, Animation award for their phenomenal work on the second season's episode of Let's Go Luna! - “Dig it Daddy-O.”

Let’s Go Luna! follows the hilarious adventures of three friends Leo, a wombat from Australia; Carmen, a butterfly from Mexico; and Andy, a frog from the U.S. as they traverse the globe with their parents’ traveling performance troupe, “Circo Fabuloso.” At each of the Circo’s stops, Luna the Moon guides the trio as they get to know the local region and its people. In “Dig it Daddy-O,” Andy becomes the new Prince of Beatniks in San Francisco and must find a way to live up to the title.

Let’s Go Luna! is produced by 9 Story Media Group and animated here at Brown Bag Films in our Toronto studio. The series encourages kids ages 4-7 to explore and appreciate world cultures while developing social skills. In Canada, Let’s Go Luna! airs on TVOKids and Knowledge Kids.

This year’s award marks the show’s third time winning in the Best Original Music, Animation category at the Canadian Screen Awards, previously scooping up the honour in both 2021 and 2022. We could not be more proud of our incredible Let’s Go Luna! composing team! We would also like to extend a huge round of applause to all the 2023 Canadian Screen Awards winners. Check out the full list of honourees here.

The awards were first presented in 2013, and they are now presented annually by the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television. In addition to recognizing the best in Canadian film, television, and digital media production, the Canadian Screen Awards also celebrate Canadian talent and creativity, and promote the growth and development of the Canadian film and television industry.
