Let’s Go, Bananas! Now Airing on CBC Kids in Canada

Oo, Oo, awesome news to share today! We are delighted to announce that Let’s Go, Bananas!, 9 Story's new 2D animated comedy series, premieres today, Friday, April 19, in Canada on CBC TV and CBC Gem! Developed and produced by our 9 Story Family and animated here at Brown Bag Films Toronto, Let’s Go, Bananas! (52 x 11min) is a feel-good celebration of the realities of family life; messy, joyful, chaotic, wonderful, and of course, totally BANANAS! The series does an amazing job of highlighting relatable family moments through the unique and diverse perspectives of children, offering a glimpse into various family dynamics in today’s world.

Let’s Go, Bananas! was created by award-winning writer and producer Tim Bain, creator of action-comedy series Kangaroo Beach and writer on hit children’s series including Bluey, PJ Masks, Thomas the Tank Engine and Aardman’s Epic Adventures of Morph. The series is inspired by Tim’s own family and features a community of three sweet and silly animal families, the Bananas (gorillas), Crockers (crocodiles) and Tiger-Zelles (tigers and gazelles). The series is also written by Tim and directed by our very own Brown Bag Films’ director Matt Mitchell (Let’s Go Luna, Rosie’s Rules).

“Oh my golly gorillas, making Let's Go, Bananas! has been a dream come true – turning silly stories from my completely bonkers family into a cartoon about three completely bonkers families! The team at 9 Story and Brown Bags have whipped up a show beyond my wildest expectations, creating a gorgeous jungle world filled with hilarious, heartfelt animal characters to tell fresh and funny stories we've not seen before in preschool TV. We hope every family watching around the globe will find big, relatable laughs as they join the Banana, Tiger-Zelle and Crocker families on their zany adventures. Congratulations team – you squished it!” ~ Tim Bain, Writer/Creator, Let’s Go, Bananas!

Working on Let's Go, Bananas! has been the highlight of my career in animation. We've made such a fun and warm celebration of what it means to be a family and I couldn't be more proud. The team has poured countless hours of hard work and passion into the show and it can be seen in every pixel and on every frame. I want to thank everyone who has been a part of creating our show, and an extra huge thank you to Tim Bain for letting us bring his wonderfully silly vision to life!
