In case you missed it, Today's Google Doodle was a heartwarming and exceptionally executed stop-motion tribute to Mister Rogers.
Production on Mister Rogers' Neighbourhood began 51 years ago today and we can't imagine what the world would have been like without him.
Along with the final product, Google documented their work with a behind-the-scenes look at the story and making of the Doodle, a fascinating process that incorporated everyday objects like popsicle sticks, yarn and crayon.

The Doodle project team visited Pittsburgh and Rogers’ hometown Latrobe, PA, to see the original set and memorabilia from the show. We rewatched numerous episodes and read interviews to understand how groundbreaking the show was at the time, and to capture its spirit to the best of our abilities.
As animation lovers and creators ourselves, we appreciate all the hard work and research that went into the making of this Doodle, and the result is a charming and touching memory of a beloved icon.
