Today's sketch 'Encounter' is a sweet fantasy piece by Dublin-based 2D Designer Gloria Gambino!

Gloria: This concept was inspired by an art-block moment. I felt very uncreative and so instead of aiming to do big, super complicated things, I've tried to make my work a little easier and to be inspired by everyday life.

My mother sent me a video of my little niece Carlotta, and she was hugging and talking with her own little cuddly toy. So I took that scene and I've re-imagined it in a more fantasy-like way. Like, if she had this giant fluffy “creature friend” to meet and talk with.

I used as a reference, My Neighbour Totoro, from Hayao Miyazaki.
