We're thrilled to share that the new animated preschool series Dylan’s Playtime Adventures (52 x11 min) is heading to CBeebies and slated to air this fall! Produced and developed by our 9 Story Family and animated here at Brown Bag Films in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery and CBC Kids, Dylan’s Playtime Adventures is based on the Scholastic book series by bestselling author/illustrator Guy Parker-Rees. The series will premiere this spring on CBC Kids and is expected to launch on Cartoonito (US) in the near future.

Dylan’s Playtime Adventures features both 2D and CG animation and follows a highly imaginative, multi-colored striped dog who is eager to role-play every career, from a doctor to a hair stylist to a sea captain. With just some basic props and some great friends, Dylan transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary, jumping feet first into every adventure that comes his way.

The news of Dylan’s Playtime Adventures being licensed to Cbeebies was announced in February of this year by 9 Story Distribution International, who hold worldwide distribution rights for the series. Along with distribution, 9 Story Brands has worldwide consumer products rights, excluding publishing. Joss Duffield, VP Distribution, EMEA at 9 Story had this to say about the announcement:

Dylan’s Playtime Adventures was developed and produced in house by the Toronto arm of 9 Story's Creative Affairs Division. The charming show also marks an innovative milestone for our Brown Bag Films pipeline, being the first 2D/CG series to be animated out of both our Toronto and Bali locations and showcasing the collaborative work of our talented team. From the extraordinary storytelling to the vibrant animation, every detail of this series has been carefully curated to tickle the hearts and minds of children everywhere.

We can’t wait for kids and families across the UK to embark on an incredible journey into the whimsical and wonderful world of Dylan’s Playtime Adventures, coming to CBeebies in fall 2024.

Dylan's Playtime Adventures will also be joining CBC's kids programming lineup in Spring 2024. The greenlight of the CBC original series was announced by Canada’s public broadcaster at its annual upfronts in June of 2023. Dylan's Playtime Adventures was also shared in 2021 as part of WarnerMedia Kids & Family expansion of Cartoonito's preschool slate.
