Coming Up: Brown Bag Films Kids Workshops at Cairn Community Games, Arts and Cultural Weekend

The Cairn Community Games, Arts and Cultural Weekend in Carlow is coming up this weekend and we're thrilled to be joining the event again this year on Saturday, 7th September.

Serving as the national finals for children aged 6 to 16, the weekend will feature young talent in events such as Art, Dance, Music, Drama, and more. As a highlight of the Community Games calendar, this event brings together the most talented young artists from across the country, offering them a platform to showcase their creativity and skills. The weekend promises to be a celebration of artistic achievement as well as an event that is family-friendly with entertainment from live acts and Corvenieos Entertainment.

The organisers have a host of fun activities lined up over the weekend featuring Stilt Walkers, fun games including a snapshot challenge, and children's book author Emma Larkin doing a book signing of her new book: Izzy's Magical Athletic Adventure!

We're also very excited to be taking part with our Dublin studio members, David Dunne (Previz & Layout Artist) and Nicky Weston (Previz Asset Modeller), running two “Introduction to Character Creation” kids workshops on Saturday, September 7th in the Visual Arts Centre.

“This is Brown Bag Films' 3rd year at the Community Games in Carlow and we are so excited to be invited back to deliver an Introduction to Character Design workshop to all the young, talented artists. In these workshops, we'll explore creating characters for a show in 2D, and then participate in creating a character in 3D. There will be goodie bags and a competition for the best characters in different categories. Every year these workshops get bigger and better and I can't wait to get down there and work with the participants. See you all very soon!”

“I'm looking forward to this year's Cairn Community Games, having participated in previous years with Nicky, I hold the firm belief that encouraging the arts at an early age will help create the genius creatives of the future! So, to be given the chance to run these workshops is just an amazing opportunity. Looking forward to seeing what wonderful and creative designs come our way!”
