Ballad of Buster Scruggs Fan Art #Sketch

We’ve got a fan art sketch today from our 2D Designer Kirsten Shiel inspired by the Coen brothers film 'The Ballad of Buster Scruggs'!

Kirsten: This is something quick I did over my lunch break to study colour. I try to do colour studies as often as I can, which involves emulating a painting or in this case, a still from a film, where you can't use the eyedropper tool and have to figure out the colour by eye.

They are extremely useful for learning relationships between colours and how adjacent colours affect one another! For this particular study, I found that the green in the sky was not something that I expected in a desert environment. The light is so strong, the greens and blues creep their way into the warm toned grass too.

I try not to zoom in at all when I do these colour studies, so I can always see the whole piece and compare it to what I'm studying. So, please don't zoom in, as it's rough as anything.
