Today's #Sketch is from our Dublin-based Storyboard Revisionist, Ottavio Roda, who put this piece forward as his entry into the studio's 'Witches' Art Jam. We loved it and wanted to find out a little bit more about the piece!
Ottavio: I created this piece to take part in the 'Witches' Art Jam the studio had a few months ago. I got inspired by the Satyrs and Nymphs art topic and how it evolved into the witches folklore. There are a lot of beautiful artworks related to this subject; Goya is a great example.
During the process, Carmine Pucci (Art Director, Brown Bag Dublin) gave me some good feedback to put an emphasis on the autumnal colours, which I thought was a great idea, because nature and seasons are very important to these imaginary beings.
I did this piece on a Cintiq 13’’ with Photoshop during my work breaks. I find myself comfortable using this medium because it allows me to experiment even during the later stages of my work.
