This May, 9 Story and Brown Bag partnered with the Create Aid charity art sale to host a month-long takeover on their Instagram page with the goal of raising funds for frontline staff who are working to keep us safe during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Over the course of the takeover our artists submitted both original artwork and prints to the Create Aid initiative. Their pieces were then posted up on the Creative Aid Instagram, where buyers could purchase the work by donating a specified amount to a charity of their choice. Finally, 9 Story & Brown Bag committed to matching all money raised from the sales of our artists during the takeover timeframe.

We also received a special submission of an original Xavier Riddle watercolour from the series co-creator and illustrator, Chris Eliopoulos, which was auctioned off during a 24-hour live auction via the Create Aid Insta stories!
Peek at some the process work he documented while creating the piece below:
A huge thank you to all our incredible crew who participated in this event and to all the wonderful people who came and purchased the art! We are thrilled to share that we sold over 28 works of art in total, raising $2900 CAD from direct sales, and after the 9 Story/Brown Bag match - a total of $5800 CAD going to charities that support frontline workers and organzitations that are fighting to keep us safe and protected from COVID-19.
And a big thank you to the Create Aid team for all the work they are doing to raise funds for such an important cause. For more information on how you can continue to support the Create Aid initiative check out their Instagram page here!
