Towers and Tales #Festival

Mark this in your diaries - as you'll want to be sure to check out the Towers and Tales Lismore Story Festival coming up Saturday April 18th!

There's a cracking line-up of best selling and well-known children’s writers and illustrators, including our own Niamh Sharkey, creator of Henry Hugglemonster!

It's due to be a great event for the whole family, with a hosted series of readings, workshops including a storyboarding workshop by our own Henry Hugglemonster director Norton Virgien and various events throughout the day, including a Monster Doodle, Inspiration Station, Book Doctor, book making, costumed characters and pop-up story readings!

And if that wasn't enough to whet your appetite, a book shop, illustration exhibition and hot chocolate factory have also been added to the agenda.

The festival was born out of former Children’s Laureate Niamh Sharkey’s wish that all children in Ireland should be gifted a book, an initiative that is already successfully delivered in over thirty countries worldwide and was launched in Ireland as Bookbag in collaboration with Brown Bag Films last year.

To reflect Niamh’s wish, and thanks to Children’s Books Ireland, all young visitors to the festival who buy a ticket to one of the events will receive a free book!

We hope to see you there!

‘Towers and Tales’ is an independent initiative run in partnership with Lismore Castle, The Lismore Heritage Centre, The Red Hall, Lismore Castle Arts and Waterford County Library.
