Darren Murray: To get the best out of your drawings, get reference for everything, from clothes to pose. Draw out roughly first, pushing your pose as far as you can. Then clean up your line work, layering on top with your clothes designs, hair, accessories etc.

The fancy clothes and stylish hair will not look good unless you have a strong pose. Reference, reference, reference!
