Lego announced plans to launch a series of female scientists and their lab tools this week.

The science led toys were chosen from the LEGO ideas campaign.

LEGO ideas invites fans and enthusiasts to submit ideas for sets they want to see produced - and if a submission receives 10,000 votes it is presented to a panel of set designers and marketing representatives. From there it is tested for stability, playability, safety, market fit and the board selects one idea to become the next Lego Ideas product.

The creator receives a percentage of the product's sales.

An astronomer and telescope, a paleontologist and dinosaur fossils and a chemist mixing in a lab will all be availble from August this year.
