Dublin Animation Film Festival 2014





Dublin Animation Film Festival (DAFF) 2014 is taking place this month!

Kicking off on Friday 17th October with a host of industry talks from animation professionals from the UK and the US at IADT being given in the Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT).

Legendary animator Bill Plympton will be conducting a masterclass on the Friday in The National Film School (NFS) on IADT’s campus. Followed on the Saturday by the Irish premiere of his new feature film Cheatin'  which will be screened in the Pavilion Theatre in Dun Laoghaire with a Q&A afterwards.

Tickets for the screening of Bill Plympton's Cheatin' are on sale at the Pavilion Theatre and are priced at €6.50 each.

Everyone attending the screening will receive a complimentary sketch from Bill Plympton!

There will be also be a showing of the ‘official selection’ of short films on the Saturday and attendees will be able to vote for their favourite film!

DAFF have lined up some terrific workshops for aspiring animators and animation enthusiasts, which will include plasticine modelling, sand animation, shadow puppet animation and comic-book creativity!

The festival will close with the awards ceremony which will be held at the Pavilion on the 18 October. 

There is no ticket charge for the screening of the shortlisted films or the awards ceremony on 18th October, but pre-booking at the Pavilion Box Office is essential.
