Bookbag Ireland Accepting Applications for 2016!

Does your school have a need for support when it comes to reading for pleasure?

Bookbag, a children's book gifting initiative, that aims to get books into the hands of children through primary schools in Ireland may be able to help. Established by picturebook maker and creator of the Henry Hugglemonster series, Niamh Sharkey, during her term as Laureate na nÓg (2012–2014), Bookbag is delivered in partnership with Brown Bag Films and Children’s Books Ireland.

Primarily aimed at DEIS schools in areas of disadvantage, where free books are most needed, the Bookbag project gifts each child in chosen schools with a book to take home and keep, as well as encouraging a sustainable reading culture within the school.

Applications are now open for Bookbag 2016!

If your school is interested in applying please drop Bookbag an email at info@childrensbooksireland.ie and you will receive a copy of the application form for 2016.

Closing date is March 3rd so spread the word!
