At Galway Film Fleadh #IrishTribute

We had an amazing time at the Galway Film Fleadh last weekend!

We were over the moon with the terrific turn-out at the cinemobile, where our good friend Steve Woods gave Brown Bag Films a wonderful intro for the Brown Bag Retrospective screening.

We took a stroll down memory lane revisiting the very first Brown Bag Films shorts, from The Last Elk up to the present date with our latest release Anya and a teaser trailer for the upcoming An Ode To Love!

Nicky Phelan and Bronagh O'Hanlon gave some very talented aspiring young animators a workshop on storyboarding their own fairy tale idea.

Cathal Gaffney & Darragh O'Connell were honoured to be presented with the Irish Tribute award for Brown Bag Films at the Fleadh.

“The Fleadh has always been the spiritual home of new Irish Animation and it’s the annual trek to Galway that continues to keep us inspired with all the emerging animation talent. Brown Bag Films was an idea for an animation studio that originated at the Fleadh so it is an absolute honour for us to be acknowledged by the Fleadh,” said Cathal Gaffney, CEO at Brown Bag Films.

“It was such a thrill to be honoured by the film festival where we screened our very first animation back in 1991. Seeing those first films in front of an audience for the first time put the fire in our bellies and it still hasn’t died down! Thanks a million to all of the team at Galway Film Fleadh and we look forward to seeing our shorts down there for years to come!” said Darragh O'Connell, Creative Director at Brown Bag Films.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Brown Bag Retrospective screening and to all the young animators who participated in the Brown Bag Workshop!

We hope to see you all again at the Fleadh next year!
