Here's a great bit of news to start off the New Year with - Animation Ireland have announced the FIRST Irish Animation Awards taking place in Dingle in March 2015!

The awards will take place on Friday 13th March at the Dingle Skelligs Hotel in Dingle. This is Animation Irelands’ inaugural awards ceremony to acknowledge and celebrate the outstanding creative talent that exists within the Irish Animation, VFX and gaming industries.

“Animation production in Ireland is a thriving industry so it is fitting that the work produced by all the studios is celebrated at this, our inaugural Irish Animation Awards ceremony. The Irish Animation Awards aims to acknowledge all the talent and hard work that makes Ireland one of the world’s leaders of animation production,” said Cathal Gaffney, Chair, Animation Ireland and Brown Bag Films CEO.

The call for entries is now open and there are 14 categories in total including “Best Student Film” and “Best International Student Film” categories!
